LA Metro Cloud-Based Bus Transit Signal Priority

Tenco developed a cloud-based Transit Signal Priority (Cloud TSP) system demo for LA Metro. Cloud TSP uses existing on-board communication hardware and Tenco software to gather real-time GPS location and speed data to calculate the estimated time of arrival of buses at intersections, and generate and send TSP requests to traffic signal controllers. Cloud TSP is scalable in the cloud, has low incremental cost, and delivers faster trips for bus and street-running Light Rail lines. The cloud-based Dynamic TSP function uses machine learning on historical traffic data to more accurately predict street-running vehicle arrival times at intersections.
