New York City Transit (NYCT) is the world’s busiest rapid transit system, and largest by number of stations. To take full advantage of train regeneration from more than five million daily rides, Tenco, NYCT, and the New York Power Authority (NYPA) quantified train regeneration energy savings and identified means to increase those savings. Tenco work included analysis, tests, and railcar modifications to understand and quantify effects which limit actual NYCT regeneration.
