NYCT Flywheel Energy Storage EMC and System Integration

New York Power Authority and New York City Transit are evaluating the energy saving potential of a Flywheel Energy Storage System, which captures, stores, and delivers power from regenerative braking in rail stations. Tenco is performing the system, safety, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) engineering, including test planning, design analysis, field testing, and results reporting. Tenco identified critical design elements and solutions necessary to ensure success of the flywheel system.
